Automobile insurance recalls

Kathleen Demeter, the Office of Defects studies of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) since 1995. She has performed the first agency in the year 1976.

NHTSA has the legal authority to require manufacturers to recall vehicles and equipment, security in the context of defects or fails to comply with its safety standards. Since 1974, more than 350 million cars, trucks, buses, recreational vehicles, motorcycles and mopeds was recalled. NHTSA monitors manufacturer ³ take appropriate corrective action to ensure that legal requirements and sufficient to protect consumers.

Many consumers are not aware of the lack of investigation and recall. But NHTSA is counting on consumers to help guard on possible defects in complaints submitted to the Agency.
