Anti-war Republican Rep. Wayne Gilchrest faces challenges from the left and right, in Maryland

Rep. Wayne Gilchrest how do people feel it again in the Marines, his brilliant belt buckle for inspection, it is now trying its conservative Polish identification in a very hotly contested Republican primary school.

The notion of nine in place there are two serious challengers, Tuesday’s GOP primary schools, in which it is a modest on charges not quite conservative.

Gilchrest was one of only two Republicans to vote last year to a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, and his criticism of the Bush administration’s conduct of the war, many Republicans have chafed in the district.

Gilchrest and his main opponent, State Sens Andy Harris and EJ Pipkin, all trying to portrait as a Republican in the real race.

Gilchrest did recently with former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and former Maryland Lt. Dir Michael Steele, two favorites in the state GOP. There has been talk about his experience in Congress, rendezvous in the day, as Gingrich wielded the Hammer.

“I am happy to be here for Wayne. Wayne is an old friend, “said Gingrich, the quantity.

And in a school Democratic base in suburban Washington, Donna Edwards was back to eight-term Rep. Albert Wynn other run after treatment in a close race two years ago.

They lost only 3 percentage points during the year 2006. If Wynn loses Tuesday, it would be in the first place, these primary season, even if only another State, Illinois, Congress race with his main presidential elections the past.

Both candidates are black, and their district includes a large block of black voters in Prince George’s County, one of the most prosperous countries of the black majority municipalities.

“He is the leader of the black population of any nation,” says Ronald Walters, a political scientist at the University of Maryland.

Wynn Edwards criticized in the vote during the year 2005 for a strengthening of the bankruptcy action, the rules it said, there have been more difficult to combat that homeowners foreclosures. Prince George’s has the highest rate of foreclosures in Maryland.

And remains a major theme of his 2006 challenge, Edwards has put pressure on Wynn’s initial support for the war in Iraq.

Wynn spoke as the war against the bulkhead and occurred on the prevention of events, including one with the Rev. Jesse Jackson. He said that Edwards has exaggerated the impact of insolvency on behalf of foreclosures and has worked to combat the owners pay their mortgages.

Harris and Pipkin, the two measures proposed in the state, legislators sure to curry favor Republican primary voters. Harris struck a state holiday in memory of former President Ronald Reagan, and both Harris and Pipkin proposed measures are prohibited from receiving illegal immigrants in the state of sub-dir.

“There is no doubt that in this race, all three candidates to be tested for the conservative mantle,” said Harris, former Dir Robert Ehrlich, and most militants of the Conservative Party.

After the primary, but some expect that the victorious Republicans no longer his conservatism. Indeed, Democrats hold a slight advantage in the entries in the district, even if it is not yet sent a Democrat for Congress in a generation.

“I do not know if he tries to prove that you are conservative is absolutely want to win this race,” said political scientist University of Salisbury Base Harry Hart.

They do not know that recent campaigns by the three leading Republicans. All three seem to hope to prove they are the best Republicans.
